" For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink form the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance." - Kahlil Gibran

All newcomers to Toronto (those who ever mentioned this to him) were extended an invitation to take a tour of the city with him - at his cost and at their convenience.
He will always be remembered as an outstanding citizen of Union Island.
The Union Island Cultural Association of Toronto (UICA) and its members take much pleasure in wishing the McKie family God’s blessings as they celebrate the departure of their beloved and our friend. Our prayers are with each of you.

No one can truly understand the sorrows you all bare at this time, but may it help some how to know we care. May you all find solace in the Christian song. " what a friend we have in Jesus".
Our deepest sympathy
Volton Hutchinson and family.
It's grace,God's marvelous grace that brought you through, and it's His
grace that led you home,as you make your entrance through that city
of jasper walls and bright golden avenue,as you behold all it's beauty and splendor, and after meeting your blessed Lord, and the other loved ones, like Mom,Bros.Velox and Lennox..then look for me ..I will be there
too.You were truly,of little stature, but you were a great giant,in the things of the Master.
May you find strength and comfort through the memories you all shared together. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With much love and sympathy. Suzette & Family

jeanette on holiday in union .
My Grand Papa James Isaac Mc Kie has been the only Grand father I have known and loved. He has been my teacher, role model and most of all my shouler to leave on when I was a little girl in Union Island. My grandad has taught me unconditional love, to follow my dreams, love my family, my culture , God and most of all to love my self. He first told me " Marie you are a special grand child "and I know that from day one. I was the only grand child in my Grandparents house at Salt Pond. I cheeris those moments going to top of the garden to fetch Aloe with him and to lit the Habour lamp.......................................... I will always cheerish all my fond moments with grandad especially having my share of old fashion discipline when I was caught whistling ....... I can't forget that moment when my grandad came for me on December 9th, 1979 to shelter me from the Uprising..... Grandad I will never forget you. "fly away to glory" on the wing of an angel your work on earth has ended and you novel journey has be gone... fly Grand pa fly fly and take your rest.
