A native of Omuggee, OK and the son of the late Professor and Ethel James, Mr. James was born November 21, 1927. He retired from the U.S. Army after over 21 years of service and had been employed as a Truck Driver. He was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church and the American Legion.


Survivors include a loving wife of 51 years, Mrs. Corrine James; one daughter, Agnes Helen Thornton; one brother, Leonard James(Carol); three sisters, Mervel Brown, Ann Hughley and Eleanor Rogers(Wyatt); a devoted nephew, James Walker(Juanita); and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
