Funeral Held Thursday for Jim Northcutt
Funeral services for Jim Northcutt, retired and prominent businessman of Point, were held at the Point Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Thursday with Jim's longtime friend, Rev. Albert Clark officiating.
Jim, affectionately called and known by his many friends, died Monday night at his home in Point with most of his family surrrounding him. He had been battling cancer for several years.
Jim was one of the co-founders and co-owners of Dal-Air Tool Company of Point. He served as Vice-President in charge of Sales before he retired from Dal-Air some time ago due to his health. He had also served in the Army during World War II, Honorably Discharged as a Corporal with an Army of Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Marksman Badge.
James Elmer Northcutt, Jr., 52, the son of James "Alex" Elmer Northcutt and Panthia Reed Northcutt, was born October 5, 1926 in Emory Texas. He married Hazel "Marie" Burnett Sulak in Durant Oklahoma on April 27, 1957 who survives.
He is also survived by his parents Alex and Panthia Northcutt of Emory, 3 sons, Danny Carson (Judy) of Dallas, Roger Northcutt and Farron "Todd" of Point; 4 daughters, Linda Bartley (Dan) of Daingerfield, Rhonda Northcutt of Greenville, Cindy Northcutt of Mesquite and Rita Northcutt of Point; 3 brothers, Marvin Northcutt (Dude) of Emory, David Northcutt (Carmoleta) of Bryan and Oren Northcutt (Betty) of Point; 7 sisters, Sybil Nail (Johnny) and Vera Byrum (Ray) both of Emory, Reba Daily (Dewey) and Violet High (Darrell) of Irving, Hazel Moses (Tillman) of Corsicana, Nelda Bilyeu (Leon) and Nola Royal (Gene) of Wills Point; 6 grandchildren, Jeff Carson, Tracy Carson of DeSoto, Bret Runyon of Chariton Iowa, Denna Carson and Wendi Carson both of Rowlett and Rendall Northcutt of Tyler; and many other relatives and friends.
LyBrand Funeral Home of Point was in charge of arrangements. Burial was at Smyrna Cemetery in Emory, Texas.
