Mr. Luis was an avid animal lover. He was preceded in  death by his lifelong companion, Lois Finkenbinder. Mr. Luis is survived by  six siblings, Stephanie Hawkins of Opelika, Johnathan Luis of Durham, N.C., Deborah Calligan of Pittsburgh,Pa., Sarah Germick of Opelika, Brendan Luis  of Ketchum, Idaho and Patty Gleeson of Yucca Valley,Calif.; nine nieces and  nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and, many friends.
