James Mitchell Morrison, Sr. was born November 9, 1927, in Lawrence County, Tennessee the son of the late James Mearda Morrison and Mimmie Hillhouse Morrison. He was married to the late Mauvalee Price Morrison and the father of Sandra Morrison Burdette (Thomas), Michael Glenn Morrison (Kay), and James Mitchell Morrison, Jr. (Cheryl). Mr. Morrison was a motorcycle policeman in West Point in the 1950s and a Mason. He retired from Diversified Products in Opelika. He was a very dedicated servant of Jesus Christ, a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and his great love was Christian music. He loved going to gospel sings and at times participating. Mr. Morrison was very much loved by his family and will be missed every day. After the death of his wife last year, he spent much time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren teaching them and sharing many wonderful stories of the old days.

Mr. Morrison is survived by his three children, their spouses, and grandchildren, Thomas Burdette, Jr., Shannon Burdette Clark (Robbie), John Morrison (Brittany), Jenna Perry (Lane), and Michael Glenn Morrison, Jr. He is also survived by his beloved great grandchildren, Rory Kloster, Ramsey Clark, Karsyn Burdette, Emma Burdette, Price Burdette, Bailey Morrison, and Kennady Perry. He was predeceased by a grandson, James Mitchell Morrison, III (Jay). Mr. Morrison was predeceased by his parents, a brother, a sister, and a much loved grandson, Jay Morrison.
