Mice Trap
So when i was little(sometime before I was 8 years old-because we moved to a new house when I was 8) Dad and me were in the barn and Dad was getting tired of all the mice. We had a couple welsh ponies and there was feed, like oats and hay and the mice were constantly eating the oats. So one day he says to me, "Wanna see how we catch these guys?". So he proceeds to rig a trap made out of a one gallon glass vinegar jug strapped to the wall of the barn with a few oats in the bottom. Then he trickles a few more grains of oats leading to the mouth of the jug. The mice will slide down into the jug to get the oats and can't climb back up the slippery walls of the jug to escape, according to Dad's plan. So needless to say I was pretty excited to see if dad's trap worked when I got off the bus from school the next day! So when Dad gets home from work we go out into the barn to check our trap. It was loaded with over a dozen mice! At this point I'm thinking my Dad is pretty smart. So he says "Lets go show your mom and brothers". So we take the jug of mice from the barn to the house. Now mind you it was the middle of winter, and as we came into the house there were a bunch of boots and shoes on the rug at the front door. Dad walks in and trips over them and drops the jar and it shatters on the floor!! All the mice scattered across the floor into the house. They went everywhere...into closets, the bathroom, our bedrooms....Everywhere!! My mom was screaming and freaking out, we were all trying to catch these mice, and the whole time I was thinking to myself....Maybe Dads not as smart as I thought :)
