Janet's Obituary

Janet Sue Riegsecker passed away, in her home January 16, 2016 after a battle with cancer.  She was born in Wauseon, Ohio April 3,1958 and lived in rural Fulton county.  Her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1968, living most of her time in Fruity Acres.  She graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1976 as the Kickoff Queen.  She continued her education at Palm Beach State College.

Janet relocated to the Detroit area, and settled in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan.  She worked for several years doing superior food and beverage service. She was an avid gardener and did some landscape work.  She was trained in many forms of massage, Reiki, Trager and Chinese Energetic Medicine, opened her own business and had many grateful clients. Throughout her lifetime, she was an influence and encourager to anyone who needed her.  She was very devoted to her pets and was involved in helping the Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society, 296 Chalfonte Avenue, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan 48236, by fostering and caring for dogs at their shelter.

Janet was preceded in death by her father, Norman Riegsecker Sr. and is survived by her mother, Ruth Riegsecker (West Palm Beach), brother Norman Jr. (Renton, Washington) and sisters Judith (West Palm Beach), Barbara (Greenacres, Florida), and Anita (Rochester, Michigan).  She is also survived by her good, longtime friend Roger Olmsted (Grosse Pointe Woods), and many other dear friends and relatives.

Uncle Darold

February 19, 2016

Not sure of the date, but Darold came to Florida on business and visited with his brother and the family there in that awesome home we had at 55 Caorline Drive.  Darold had a significant impact on all of the Norman Riegsecker children, and he was admired by each, as seen here with Janet

Rose Bush

February 6, 2016

"One of my rose bushes, this is the largest one.  It used to be as tall as the garage until I pruned it.  It was very wild.  This is behind the garage.  You can't see it unless you walk back there."
