Janice Lee Westover [Jan] was first born child to Minnie E. Broer (-Westover) and Willard W. Westover in Grand Island, NE, U.S. on December 31, 1939.

She attended Howard Elementary School in Grand Island, for academic years Fall 1944 - Spring 1951.
She attended Walnut Junior High (Middle) School in Grand Island, in academic years Fall 1951 - Spring 1954.
She attended Grand Island Senior High School [GIHS] in her academic years Fall 1954 - Spring 1957.
In Jan's early education she achieved, each year, an all A grade (4.0) at each school.
Jan was a National Honor Society award receipient at GIHS in the College Preparatory Scholastic program.
Jan was her Senior Class Secretary-Treasuer; Student Council member; Homeroom President; Editor-In-Chief & layout editor of Purple Mask Annual Year Book; President of "Pride and Prejudice" and "Quill and Schroll"; Y Teens; Y-Tenettes; Girls' Glee Club; Mixed Chorus; Small Groups; Jets; GAA; Office Girl.
