Her Life

Mrs. Janie B. Robinson was born in Chambers County, Alabama, to the late Alberta Mitchell Harris and Napoleon Harris on May 31, 1912. She answered her heavenly Father’s call and departed this life on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Dadeville Health Care Center, Dadeville, Alabama.

She was a product of the Chambers County School System.

She was a domestic working for many years until failing health.

She confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. W. M. Tucker where she served faithfully until failing health.

 

Janie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Sidney Robinson who preceded her in death.

She was a dedicated member of the Senior Choir, Female Adult Sunday School Class, Missionary Circle IV, Girl Scout Leader, and the organizer and Worthy Matron of the Mary Chapter of Eastern Star #34. Mrs. Janie was also a vacation bible school teacher, Assistant Director of the Little Upshaw Choir, and Director and President of the Sunbeam and Red Circle.
Mrs. Janie was a loving person who loved the Lord. She was well known for her good homecooking and work with the kitchen committee.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mattie Harris and a brother, Charlie Harris.


She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughter, Mrs. Barbara (Raymond) Lovelace, Lanett, AL; cousin who she reared as her son, Mr. Homer (Carolyn) McCullough, Ferndale, MI; grandchildren, Minister, Debora (Anthony) McCarden and Ms. Miranda Darden both of West Point, GA; Ms. Venessa Miller and Mrs. Reomaya (Kenneth) Chambers both of Valley, AL; great grandchildren, Jasmyne and Taylor Miller, Antavious and Dexter McCarden, and Rajon and Makaia Darden.


Special cousins, Mrs. Myrtis Chappell and son, Terry Chappell, Lanett, AL; Ms. Andrea and Ariél McCullough, Ms. Geneva, Arión, and Ajani McCullough all of Ferndale, MI; Mrs. Essie Mae Harris, Lanett, AL and a host of other relatives and friends.
