The daughter of the late Jessie and Lonnie Harris Jones, Mrs. Sherman was born in Albany, GA on September 24, 1939. She obtained a BS degree from Albany State University, and was a member of Franchise Missionary Baptist Church where she served with the Deacons Wives Ministry. She was retired from Civil Services, Ft. Benning, GA, and was co-owner of M & J Produce in Ft. Mitchell. She also served as a member of the East Alabama Baptist Women's Association and the ABWA. She was preceded in death by his beloved husband, Melvin Sherman; a son, Andre Sherman, and three siblings, William Jones, opal Jones and Elizabeth Jones.
Survivors include: one son, Cleo Johnson (Nina); two daughters, Cinithar D. Booker and Jessica Sherman; ten grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren; one brother, Joe L. Jones; two sisters, Linda J. Brown and Claudette Stoutley; other relatives and friends.
