Jeannie's Obituary

October 26, 2011

Jeannie Elizabeth Mann, 57, of Rancho Cucamonga, California died Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

She was born to Van and Evelyn Maxey, January 18, 1954, in Vallejo, California.  Jeannie grew up in Morgan Hill, California with her six siblings and parents.   She graduated with honors from Live Oak High School, Morgan Hill in 1972. She attended Westmont College, in Santa Barbara California.  She married Bill Mann in 1984, and they lived together in Rancho Cucamonga.

Jeannie was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and God mother.  Shortly after marriage she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus.  She was a fighter who battled her illness up until the very end.  In 2000 severe complications of her disease left her non-ambulatory and she spent the next 11 years of her life in a hospital bed. Jeannie was blessed with the loving care of her husband and deeply devoted friend, caregiver and companion Maria Cruz of Colton, California.  Jeannie suffered greatly in her life and found great courage through her deep faith in Jesus Christ.  Although she was often in great pain, she was still able to maintain a cheerful and bubbly disposition.   She was an inspiration to all those who knew her and/or cared for her.  With a ready smile and loving heart she welcomed others into her life.

Jeannie loved to go camping and fishing with her husband Bill.  She enjoyed cooking, needle-working, sewing, arts and crafts, music and reading.  Jeannie loved children and unable to have any of her own, she devoted herself to her nieces and nephews.

Jeannie is survived by her husband Bill of Rancho Cucamonga; her mother Evelyn Maxey of Morgan Hill, California; four siblings - Susan Ramoneda,  Marcia Crowe, Barbie Grow, and Christopher Maxey.  She is also survived by sixteen nieces and eight nephews.

Jeannie is preceded in death by her father, Van Maxey and her two brothers, Michael and Jonathan.

Donations be made out to The Lupus Foundation of America in her honor.

A memorial service and reception will be held at the Community Baptist Church of Rancho Cucamonga at 11:00 am, on Monday October 31.  The church is located at 9090 19th Street, Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
