2016 - Commerce `86 Award in Memory of Jeff Brock

June 10, 2016

The class of Commerce `86 has decided, through a committee of volunteers, to provide a gift in memory of Jeffrey Brock. Jeff was an outstanding classmate, who sadly passed away in 2011, after a tough battle with pancreatic cancer.

As Queen`s University ComSoc President in his 4th year, Jeff was a natural leader and a friend to all. He exemplified the Commerce spirit and we want that to live on through the Commerce 1986 Award in Memory of Jeffrey Brock. This will be awarded to a 3rd or 4th year student on the basis of demonstrated leadership in extra-curricular activities or community service, and strong academic performance - this criteria will allow the school to honour a student who embodies the same values and spirit as Jeff.

Jeff's parents, Anne and Bill Brock, have generously offered to match our class contributions up to $100,000. Our class goal is set at $300,000, and with your help we are confident that we will not only meet this goal, but exceed it!

Keep in mind that although raising funds will be important, it's class participation that we want to see! With a goal of 100% class participation, we can truly create a legacy for the Commerce Class of 1986, while also inspiring a strong upper-year student in the Commerce program.
