His Life
August 10, 2012

Jeffrey John Davis was born  May 15, 1974 in Marshall, Michigan at the Oaklawn hospital at 7:04 p.m.   He was welcomed by his Father and Mother, John C. & Starla (Call) Davis and many other family members.

What a sweet bundle of joy he was .  Jeff was a  happy, good little boy who wondered how everything worked and often took things apart to see what made them work.  He was always quick with a smile.   Around the terrible  twos, he would shake his finger and say," no, no , no" , usually when he was called down for something.

He was pleased when he got a new brother , Bobby, in July of 1975.

So, as not to leave his brother out, he would grab a hold of his foot and drag him to where he was going and then lay next to him or use him for a pillow.  We did correct that.

Jeff loved to be out doors to play or at the lake with his Dad.  He also enjoyed getting into the back holder, that his Dad had, and going along on a walk (ride) around the lake.  He lived at Lyon Lake about 7 miles from  Marshall, Michigan.

Jeff moved several times with his family, because of  his Father's job.  When he was  four, the first move was to Greeley, Colorado.   He started his school years here.  He also got a dog, he named Rex.  He picked this little terrier out at the pound and said that he was the dog for him.  When ask why, Rex ,for a name, he said "Because he looks like a Rex," and then gave his big grin.

Just before going into 4th grade, came another move, to Northern California.  At first this move was very hard on him, but he came to like living there.  He had a good friend who lived close and they enjoyed hanging out and  doing things together.
This was also where he started his karate classes ,which was what he always wanted to do.  He was blessed with a good school, Golden State Karate school in Santa Rosa and a very good instructor, who taught his students, that karate was not for beating people up, but for self defense.  Jeff never forgot  his time at this school and admired each person for their talents.

Jeff graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1993.  He enjoyed his years at this school and made a lot of friends, both students and staff.

He worked for the carpenters union and later, a window company.  He moved with family again to Southern California, and was in Bakersfield for a year.  Then, moved to Arizona where he drove tow truck and worked in a car rental shop among other jobs.

Jeff was a member of  the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He enjoyed music, had an interest in the arts, enjoyed reading,( most books were about Wizardry ) and enjoyed getting together with his friends.  He also enjoyed going to The Renaissance Fair  each year.

He enjoyed family and the time spent together on weekends, when he did not have other plans.

The best way to describe Jeff, is as his aunt  said.  To know him, was to love him.  He had a wonderful way about him.  He did not judge, he loved people and truly cared about their well being.

He will be and is missed more than words can express by his Parents John & Starla Davis of Mesa Arizona.  His brother,Bobby Davis of Springfield, Missouri.  Grandparents Lyle & Jan Call,  along with many other Family members and countless friends.

Private Family Services will be August 22nd in Michigan.
