"Jerel was not only my friend, but he was one of my daughter, Ranley Clayton's mentors. He took her under his wing and helped coach her through five years varsity Basketball and softball at Horseshoe Bend High School. His mentoring did not end when she graduated in 2013, but continued until the day he left this earth. Through text messages and facebook messages, he was always checking on her and making sure she was okay. That is just who he was. I will surely miss his contagious smile and warm hugs, but I'm a better person for knowing he was a true friend. He will be missed, but never forgotten. May God Bless each of you during this time. Until we meet again Crayton! Love you Bud!"
