Jerry Lee Oakley. 65, a resident of Granville County, Butner, NC, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 in Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A native of Granville County, the husband of Diane Cash Oakley and the son of the late Elbert and Colleen Lemons Oakley. He was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church, a volunteer fireman for the Oxford Fire Department for over 20 years and was self-employed as J & J Maintenance and Landscaping.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2012 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor. Burial will be in South Granville Memorial Gardens in Stem, North Carolina.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Diane Cash Oakley of the home, two daughters, Stacy Dowdy of Butner, Haven Stallings (Chip) of Wake Forest, a granddaughter, Ashley Tatum, two grandsons, Trevor Dowdy and Hogan Stallings, four brothers, Elbert “Spooky” Oakley, Jesse Teel, both of Butner, Roger Oakley and Gerald Teel, both of Oxford. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton and Alvin Teel.
Visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2012 in the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and other times at the home, 302 8th Street, Butner, North Carolina.
