Oh, what a wonderful blessing when your Dad and I found out we were expecting you!!! How we waited for you for many years and, then, we were blessed. Your Dad was in the Navy and stationed in Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida and I was teaching art at John Gorrie Middle school. There was a problem, and the doctor told me that in order to save you I had to quit work and be on bed rest for several months. I told the doctor, "I will do anything to have my baby".
And so you arrived Sept. 21, 1978 at around 8:00pm weighing 8lbs. 9ozs. "You didn't have a baby, you had a moose!" said one of the attending nurses. I thought that was a bit insulting, but then I understood what she meant. Your dad and I were beyond happy!!! You were a beautiful healthy baby girl!
