Jesus “Jesse” Barrera, 24, a resident of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in El Paso, TX.  He was born March 3, 1989 in Weslaco, TX to Jose and Maria C. Sanchez Barrera.  He enjoyed world travels and cross country running.  He had worked with several biology labs at New Mexico State University.  He concentrated in the fields of microbiology and food science.  He planned to continue his education in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research.  He is survived by his parents, Jose and Carmen Barrera of Bayard; one brother, Jose A. Barrera and wife Lisa M. of Irving, TX; one sister, Priscilla Perea and husband Steven D. of Lordsburg; one nephew, Andres E. Perea; one niece, Isabella C. Barrera; maternal grandfather, Anselmo Sanchez; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Antonia Sanchez; paternal grandparents, Maximiliano and Antonia Barrera.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 27 from 4-7pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the Evening Service to begin at 7pm with Pastor Mark Castillo officiating.  The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, February 28 at 10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Pastor Mark Castillo officiating.  Concluding service interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery.   Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Salas, Estevan Vega, Michael Drummer, Tyler Massey, Daniel Martinez and Sergio Mendoza.  Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels “Trusted care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.  To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.
