His Life
June 30, 2015

Jimbo was born in White Plains, NY, February 13, 1970.  He grew up in nearby Hartsdale, while spending family vacations at their cabin in Vermont.  According to Jim, it was an idyllic childhood.  Days filled with bikes, romping in the woods, skiing, Intelivision, Kill the Carrier, baseball, soccer, watching tv sports with Dad, attending NY Gians games, batles with Stretch Armstrong, pillow cases of candy on epic Halloween nights, visiting grand-parents in St. Croix, a paper route to earn money for baseball cards, whoopee cushions and July 4th fireworks, play with plastic Army men (which could be melted with a magnifying glass!), AFX racing, marathon sessions of Donkey Kong, followed by that good 'ol' NY pizza and birthday parties at the bowling alley.  Jimbo was also a smart kid and did well in school.

In his freshman year, Jim's Dad was transferred to LA.  It was a major change. Jim came honestly by the self-described label of 'African-American, Jewish, LA white guy from New York! Moving to Cypress, Jim picked  up the guitar and golf clubs about the same time.  High school was marked by some football and a whole lot of guitar.  From the early influences of Van Halen, Ozzy and Iron Maiden, Jim evolved into a talented jazz guitarist, at one point touring CA with a school jazz band.  He graduated from Cal State LA with a degree in Music.

Jim's dream was to be a studio musician but, after realizing that lightening would have to strike first in the most competitive of music fields, he ventured to Winter Park, FL to study audio technology at Full Sail U. While there, Jim worked as a studio sound engineer, recording acts like Suga Free.  It was also in Florida, that Jim's love of golf really took hold.  He played with an entertaining group of Brits.  He and his U. S. friends would square off with them every year for the funniest 'Ryder Cup' ever!

Back in L.A., Jim landed a job at the 90's show Hard Copy.  He collected many good stories from the show and more importantly, some great lifelong friends and golfing buddies.  Ultimately, Jim found his professionall niche as an Audio Supervisor for a variety of realty TV shows (check his web-site BoSounds.com) He was very proud of forming his own business in 2014, BoSounds, Inc. as well one with his friend, Marty, called BoMo.com. He was known for his dedication, talent, creativity and working so well with people that he was known to actually smile when he was yelling at you! He loved his Audio crew like family. Hanging out with the crew after an exhausting work session was his fun time, unless, of course, he was home with his wife, Doah.  She was the love of his life and they were a great complement to each other. A great match.

Although Jimbo died so long before his time, he had a full life.  He saw the best in all paople and absorbed the best from them as well.  Close relationships flourished throughtout his life because of his passions, his generosity of spirit (it's remarkable how many people called him a mentor), his easy-going nature, his terrific sense of humor and his ability to always see the positive side.  His close-knit family, Russ, Alison and older brother Jeff, helped make Jimbo the person he became. That, plus good friends, productive work, solid passions and of course, his wonderful Doah, helped him live life to the fullest.  He shall be sorely missed by all.
