Jimmy Lewis Evans, 69, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Thursday, June 08, 2017 at his home.

A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Willie Knight Evans Sr. and Nannie Lou Duke. Jimmy was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Murdoch Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. June 10, 2017 in the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Dan Hill. Burial will be in Community Memorial Gardens in Stem.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-one years, Doris Beal Evans of the home; a son, Donald L. Evans of Oxford; four sisters, Willie Lou E. Cole of Stem, Naomi E. Brogden of Stem, Sarah E. Oakley of Stem and Dale E. Ramsey of Stovall; a brother, Herbert Evans of Northside and one grandson, Bradley L. Evans. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Bud, Roy, Nelson and Bill Evans, Jr.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Duke Hospice, 4321 Medical Park Dr. Suite 107, Durham, N.C. 27704.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 12:30 – 1:45 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.
