Mr. Joe Brown was born June 1, 1921 to Mr. Alex Brown and Ms. Mary Francis Harris in Gold Hill Wavely, Alabama.

Mr.'Joe Brown joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church at an early age. He joined the United State Army when became of age. After his stay in the Army, he then married Ms. Annie Thelma Woody.

To this union were born four children: two sons, Joe Brown, Jr. (Linda Taylor Brown) Lynn Brown; two devoted daughters, Linda Brown Toler (Terry), Hellen Brown Sturdivant; a devoted son-in-law, Terry Toler; two devoted nieces, Diane Hubbard; a devoted nephew, Carnell Johnson of Vallejo, California;
ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren;
a devoted neighbor and friend for forty-four years, Ms. Clara McCrimmon, Mr. Eddie Wright of Vallejo, California; a host of friends and neighbors. Special thanks to Hospice Staff.
