His Life

From Burtie bump to Baby Joey!

August 10, 2012

On Sunday 15th July 2012 I went to bed early knowing that labour was beginning i was so excited, sure enough at 2.30am contractions started and came every half an hour i slept in-between as i knew i was going to need my strength! by morning the pains were strong, Wayne got the girls ready for school and i showered still so excited this was it! the day we were all waiting for! the girls kissed me goodbye and went to school full of excitement. Whilst Wayne was dropping off the girls my waters broke! i knew then i needed to get to hospital as i didn't think our Burtie was going to wait much longer!
We arrived at heartlands hospital at around 9am i was put on the monitor and it was at this point we realised our dream was shattered, we were told our beautiful little boy had died. our lives were never going to be the same again. Never had we thought for one moment that 16th July 2012 was going to end in such a heartbreaking, distressing way.
I continued my labour with the 2 people in the world that love me most my beautiful amazing mom, and my Wayne who was absolutely brilliant considering he too had just had the most devastating blow any mother or father could be given. Baby was delivered at 12.28pm he weighed 7lb 10ozs, he had dark wavy hair and beautiful blue eyes. We named him Joey.
The hours and days to follow we will cherish forever as we got to spend time with our very own baby angel we gave him so many cuddles! introduced him to his very proud and brave big sisters! and to all our family and friends.
The 2 nights that Wayne and I stayed in hospital with joey in his crib next to our bed were to me priceless we had our boy with us it was perfect.
Our next focus was to give our Joey the best funeral possible, which we did. 25th July 2012 was the day we tucked joey up and said goodnight one final time.

9 Months of happiness :)

Finding out we were expecting a baby came as a bit of a shock, it was around christmas time and we felt blessed with such good news!
Everyone we knew was so happy for us but the happiest of all was our 3 beautiful girls Leah, Ellie and mackenzie, they were so very excited about becoming big sisters!
As i grew so did our excitement, my bump did not take long to show! it was perfectly formed and round. I craved some very strange things ;) such as prawn cocktail crisps dipped in soft cheese!! and many more strange things!
feeling my baby move for the first time was amazing and when the kicks became strong enough for wayne and the girls to feel it was even more magical! we could see and feel our perfect new family member growing into a precious baby.
Finding out the new baby was to be a boy was so special, for the girls a baby brother! for wayne his much wanted son for me my first ever son, for grandparents there first grandson and for aunts and uncles a nephew much to my own baby brother michaels delight! after longing for a little man to play footy with after i had given him 3 neices so far ;)
So then baby was called burtie bump! nicknamed after his daddys nickname 'burt' wayne would call me everyday and ask how i was feeling and the ask "Hows my burtie today" which always made me smile.
Weeks rolled by and so did the seasons untill it was summer, we were ready to welcome our burtie, he had the best pushchair the shops had to offer! he had so many lovely outfits in every shade of blue! and most importantly he had his first ever villa kit printed with the Turner name ready for him to put on and make his daddy so proud! all equipment was bought, his crib sat empty in our bedroom waiting for his arrival all we needed now was our burtie to arrive.

Burtie Bump

From the moment we saw him on the 20 week scan he was known as our burtie bump :) So many people were excited to meet him, he was a much Loved and anticipated little boy!

He grew to be a perfect baby boy inside me (made his mommy very fat!) but i didnt mind :) he was such a lively little boy especially at mommys bedtime! he would always kick at 11pm without fail, right up untill his final day inside me. I will never forget the magical feeling of our burtie's kicks and the bond that grew between us in those 39 perfect weeks.
