From Burtie bump to Baby Joey!
On Sunday 15th July 2012 I went to bed early knowing that labour was beginning i was so excited, sure enough at 2.30am contractions started and came every half an hour i slept in-between as i knew i was going to need my strength! by morning the pains were strong, Wayne got the girls ready for school and i showered still so excited this was it! the day we were all waiting for! the girls kissed me goodbye and went to school full of excitement. Whilst Wayne was dropping off the girls my waters broke! i knew then i needed to get to hospital as i didn't think our Burtie was going to wait much longer!
We arrived at heartlands hospital at around 9am i was put on the monitor and it was at this point we realised our dream was shattered, we were told our beautiful little boy had died. our lives were never going to be the same again. Never had we thought for one moment that 16th July 2012 was going to end in such a heartbreaking, distressing way.
I continued my labour with the 2 people in the world that love me most my beautiful amazing mom, and my Wayne who was absolutely brilliant considering he too had just had the most devastating blow any mother or father could be given. Baby was delivered at 12.28pm he weighed 7lb 10ozs, he had dark wavy hair and beautiful blue eyes. We named him Joey.
The hours and days to follow we will cherish forever as we got to spend time with our very own baby angel we gave him so many cuddles! introduced him to his very proud and brave big sisters! and to all our family and friends.
The 2 nights that Wayne and I stayed in hospital with joey in his crib next to our bed were to me priceless we had our boy with us it was perfect.
Our next focus was to give our Joey the best funeral possible, which we did. 25th July 2012 was the day we tucked joey up and said goodnight one final time.
