|Let the memory of John be with us forever|
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved Father, John Barrett, 79, born on June 7, 1936 and passed away on July 13, 2015. We will remember him forever.
"Kathy and Kristie,
Your dad always had a twinkle in his eyes and a joke to be told. I have fond memories of him and Uncle Joe teaching me horseshoes on Hamlin Ave. I also have a picture of me around 3-4 years old with a beer bottle in my hands, an unlit cigarette in my mouth, wearing cowboy boots. You know the two of them posed me to get a rise out of my mom! Strange that my mom is the last surviving Barrett child. Alzheimer's prevents her knowing of Helen, Peg , Cush and your dad's passing these past few years.
Having just lost my dad, I know how difficult this transition will be. A father's bond with his daughters is very special. Take care of each other and know we (Bob, Betty and Nancy) share your loss."
"I wanted to send my condolences for your loss of Mr. Barrett. Nothing that I could ever say could heal the pain that you feel, but please know that Psalm 34:18 is certainly true with you - no matter what you face. I just wanted to share that with you and I hope that you take care of yourselves.
"About three weeks ago, John was already with me in sprit. I had to take the road test to get my license renewed. I am of that age. Some 45 years ago, John, my neighbor took me, a young mother to Elston Avenue to take my first driving test. On the way home, he bought me coffee to celebrate. John was a good neighbor."
