John had an amazing life.  He grew up in Wookey a village in England.  Spent time in his grandparents home which he loved so much.  Helping his grandfather in the garden weeding, planting just having fun.  On Sunday he would attend the Sunday school in the morning, participating in the choir and as an Altar boy too.  He enjoyed sport soccer or in England is called football.  He was a golie because of his hight.  He had a happy childhood in England.

World war 2 came around so he volunteered for military pilot training and he graduated at the Clewiston, Florida flight training facilities before transfer to the European theater of military operations.   He served in the British RAF.

He completed two tours of flight combat missions throughout Europe, including close support of the Normandy D-Day assult.  After Victory in Europe. (VE Day), he flew long range transport aircraft from Europe to and from the Asian theater of military operations until the end of the Asian conflict.

He remained in Europe flying trans-continental commercial services at the conclusion of World War 2 and later flew commercially scheduled services throughout the Caribean area.  At his base in Nassau, Bahamas, he also carried out instructional duties in advanced instrument flight procedures.  (this was his favorite subject)

He later returned to the U.S. and became self-employed in the production of an exclusive line of resort and golf apparel which was primarily marketed in the upscale golf and vacation resorts of Hawaii, Palm Springs, Scottsdale and Palm Beach, etc.

In 1977 he undertook an additional sporting side-venture when  he became co-owner of the Las Vegas franchise in the North America /soccer League during the Pele  (Cosmos) era;  later selling his interests in the franchise prior to it's transfer to San Diego.

He retired in 1984 due to failing health and moved to Oregon from California with his wife Kamala, who survives him.
