Mr. John Franklin Whipple, Jr., 93 year old resident of West Point, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Whipple will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 2:00 PM EDT from the First United Methodist Church of West Point. Reverend Gill McGinnis will officiate. 

Interment will be in Marseilles Cemetery, West Point.

The family will greet friend Friday evening from 6:00 PM EDT until 8:00 PM EDT from the Zachry Center of the First United Methodist Church.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. John Whipple. His work on the school board and his participation in so many activities meant a lot to the people of this community, as it did to the entire O'Brien family. I know that he has found his peace, and my prayer is that the family is comforted by memories of the good life he lived. God bless.
