I'll never forget the night my dad took me to The Carpenters, when they came to Birmingham, England. 

I couldn't afford a ticket to go to see them so I asked my dad if he could take me, as a good un, he did. 

We waited for at least an hour, thinking maybe we've missed them, but no, Karen came out of the stage door  first, I asked for her autograph, and she gave it to me, as we walked down the side of the Hippodrome theatre
