I enjoyed going thrifting with John. He never ceased to amaze me with his eye for art as well as his knack for turning trash into treasure. I would pass right by a pencil sketching or a piece of furniture only to have John come by and pick it up. He would study it, turn it around over and over and then decide to buy it.
Later at the house I would stand dumb founded at they way John would have painted, polished or re-matt and framed what ever piece of trash he found and completely change it into a beautiful treasure!
Also, he would pick up a pencil sketing or art that everyone else would walk right by...only to research it later and found out that is was actually valuable.
I told you...John always saw the world through different eyes.In the beginning he was a diamond in the rough, no one in the family quite knew what to make of him. Over the years, he proved he was a rare treasure and someone who could see the beauty that others would ignore.
