Let the memory of John be with us forever
Member of the Omaha, NE. Fire Dept. where he served from 6-11-1918 until his death. He was one of 7 Omaha Fire Fighters who died in the line of duty while fighting a fire at the Millard Hotel, located at 13th & Douglas Street in Omaha. He died along with 4 other Fire Fighters when a wall fell on them. Later at this same fire, 2 other Fire Fighters died when the floors of the hotel collasped on them. Cogan was assigned to Engine #10.
