Happy Posthumous 70th Daddy

March 9, 2023
Hey Daddy,
It would have been your 70th birthday today!
We could have had a blast, arranged a thanksgiving at church with family and friends.
We choose, today, to reflect on your being, your person and legacy. It has been /continuously a blessing to call you father, oh what joy!!

Thank you Sir for giving yourself to our world, for making indelible footprint on the sand of time and for keeping the faith!!

You made loving you easy and your memory is forever blessed.

Continue to bask in the glory of our heavenly Father till we meet at His feet on the resurrection morning

"As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing."
2 Timothy 4:6‭-‬8 NLT

Letter to Daddy

June 30, 2021
Dearest Daddy,
It's been 10 years since you were translated from an earthly being to a celestial one, Halleluyah!!!
One is sure you are yet scratching the surface of Glory in the real sense of the word even though one wishes you are still on this side of eternity.

Days have run into months and months into years, Indeed time and seasons have changed, people too, but God remains faithful.
It has been challenging without you in the family, your soft answer, your encouragement and words of wisdom have been so missed... Your advice resonates with us and your exemplary life speaks volume even after your your demise.

The precious memories we have of you lingers on in our hearts as we cherish them. The legacy you left is highly commendable and treasured.

Thank you Daddy for all you were to us, how you impacted your world in your own unique way, and showing us never to give up on our dreams no matter the obstacles. To say we miss you greatly is an understatement, your grandchildren (even unborn) will definitely be told of how beautiful a soul you were.

Till we meet again at the Father's feet, keep smiling and we hope to do you proud on this side of eternity.

Love always
Abimbola Abike xxxxx

Poem dedicated to The Man-'Segun Adetayo

As We Look Back

By an Unknown Author

As we look back over time
We find ourselves wondering …..
Did we remember to thank you enough
For all you have done for us?
For all the times you were by our sides
To help and support us …..
To celebrate our successes
To understand our problems
And accept our defeats?
Or for teaching us by your example,
The value of hard work, good judgment,
Courage and integrity?
We wonder if we ever thanked you
For the sacrifices you made.
To let us have the very best?
And for the simple things
Like laughter, smiles and times we shared?
If we have forgotten to show our
Gratitude enough for all the things you did,
We’re thanking you now.
And we are hoping you knew all along,
How much you meant to us.

7 years on!!

ONE YEAR ON!

July 14, 2012

Dearest John Olusegun Adigun Adetayo,

As we reflect into this one year without you! We see the loneliness, the hurt and heartbrokenness but through it all God is faithful. Not being able to hear your voice is strange, being unable to touch you seems unbearable and the pain of not seeing you is indescribable.

However, we can hear you in our subconscious admonishing and encouraging us not to give up the fight, telling us to lift our heads high in the midst of challenges. Surely Olusegun’s Legacy lives on.

We remember you today, as always as a Man of Integrity and Honour! You were Selfless and had great faith in God. You won the hearts of multitudes, both young and old, with your selflessness and words of wisdom/encouragement.

It is a testimony that you walked the path of your Saviour ‘Jesus’ hence in difficult situations we can as well ask ourselves ‘What would ‘Segun Do?’ Indeed, you are influential even in death!

Even though it saddens our hearts that you did not live long enough to see your children achieve all their dreams or even be well established in their chosen fields, we promise, by God, to do you and our Mother proud in all our endeavours.

We are grateful to God that helped you to build some friendships/relationships that has been of great support since your demise till date. We can only pray that God meet the needs of such individuals and groups that have supported our family till date.

While we still fail to understand why you had to go so soon and struggle with your absence in our midst, yet we believe He sees all things and knows all things and took you ahead of the days of evil.

As the seconds turn into minutes, the minutes into hours, and hours into days, days into months and months into a year today we realise even more that you are never coming back to us we will have to come to you! We only hope and pray that we make it to God’s right hand where we know you now reside.

We loved you Yesterday, Today still and forever you will be in our hearts. Words fail to express how much we all miss you!

Rest on John Olusegun Adigun Adetayo our Jewel of Inestimable Value!
