John Thomas [Jack] Goad, age 87, of Port St. Lucie, Fl., formerly of Sebring, Fl., Fishertown and Bedford Pa. passed away on Friday, July 19th, 2013 at Emerald Health Care in Port St. Lucie, Fl.

Born May 20th, 1926 son of Cloyd Goad and Mary [Schnably] Goad. John is survived son James Timothy Goad of Lake Placid Fl., and 2 granddaughters, Hadley Goad of Calif. and Erin Lambert of New York, half brother Tony Goad and half sister Susan [Goad] Arnold of Bedford. John is survived by nieces Shirley [Burket] Imler of Bedford, Claudia Megaghan of Levittown, Pa., Barbara Petrelle of Ft. Walton Bch. Fl., Nephewa James[Jim] Jones, Levittown, Pa. William G. [Bill] Jones of Port St. Lucie Fl., John Jones of Navarre Bch. Fl., and Jeff Jones of Everett, Pa. Brothers in law Charles Burket of Orange Park, Fl. and David Burket of Virginia.

John joined the Navy after his junior year of high school in 1944, serving aboard the USS Sangamon in the Pacific Theater. After WWII ended, John served aboard the USS Cutty Hunk until his discharge in March 1946. John came home to Bedford after his discharge and met the love of his life, Gloria [Burket] Goad whom he married in November 28th, 1946. They were married almost 64 years when Gloria passed away in September 29th, 2010.

John retired from Sun Oil Co. near Cessna where he was a maintenance man
for many years before becoming a supervisor the last 10 years.

John was a member of the Masonic Lodge 320 F. & A.M. Bedford, and a long time member of the American Legion Post 113 in Bedford.

John was predeceased by his wife, Gloria, 2 infant sons at birth, his sister, Margret Jones, brother, Cloyd Goad, and nephew Michael Goad.

John will be laid to rest at Bedford Memorial Park along side his loving wife Gloria in October 2013.

John will be greatly missed by all who came to know him.
