John was a unique person that I had the pleasure of knowing and mentoring at Ben Taub General Hospital. He had an exceptional mind which was inquisitive and highly intelligent. I enjoyed our daily conversations as colleagues and as mentor/mentoree. The knowledge he instilled in me regarding life, Mental health, healthcare, politics, the world made me feel as if I was the mentoree. John definitely left his legacy behind in all the knowledge he instilled in everyone he ever spoke with throughout his life. He will be missed.

Artist in Residence Program – November 2009

John Harmon, LMSW, MA, case manager, Clinical Case Management Department, Ben Taub General Hospital, became the first recipient of the department’s Artist in Residence Program at the Ben Taub General Hospital.

The program showcases the creative skills of clinical case management staff. It was part of activities held the week of Oct. 11-17 to observe National Case Management Week. Mr. Harmon is an accomplished photographer who enjoys shooting architecture, wildlife, and nature scenes around greater Houston.

During the program’s ceremony; he presented the department six of his photographs to display for patients, families, visitors and staff. “These are remarkable and beautiful photographs that everyone can enjoy,” said Ann Teske, MS, RN, director, Clinical Case Management.
