John lived in Arcata most of the 28 years or so that he lived here in Humboldt. John and I met via an online dating service. We me one impromptue night @ Denny's and instantly we connected. On our 1st real date, he took me to Arcata. He talked about how much he enjoyed spending time there. He had always been an animal lover, so when he had the chance, he would take friends dogs out to the park for exercise. I loved to watch his beautiful blue eyes light up, when he spoke of the many different occasions of being at that park with the dogOne the day I first visited the park with him, we were sitting on a fallen Redwood log. He was talking to me about his life, and how difficult life had been over the last few years. It was extremely shaded because of the tree tops. Yet, at one point while he was speaking to me, it was as if the tree tops parted, and a beam of sunlight shone down upon him, illuminating his silver hair, it almost looked like spun silk. His blue eyes were lit up, as he was telling me his story. I distinctly remember us talking how this "place" was our Camelot, and I was his Guinevere and he was my Lancelot. We laughed, held hands and kissed beneath those towering Redwoods. I knew he was the One for me. Oh, how I miss you, my Lovee
