"John, I still can't believe that you needed to say goodbye to us one year ago today.  I didn't want to accept that our time together had ended.    Over this past year I thought about the many gifts you gave me by just being my brother and my friend. Thank you for your respect, your love of my family, your funny stories and great sense of humor, your unending ideas. your honesty, your gentleness, and on. I will never forget you and I will always love you. Someday we will laugh together, face to face; I wonder what we will poke fun at first!"

"My good friend is gone and I miss him terribly. My sympathies to his family and those who loved him as I did, as well as my family. He was an "adopted" son and brother to my parents and sisters. He was kind and supportive to my daughter along with my cousin Ann. When he couldn't get home to celebrate holidays with his family, he joined us. We will cherish those memories and the wonderful pictures he took of my family members and especially those fabulous sunset pictures!!!!! He loved being at my folks' on the beach for dinner and the sunset. I won't watch one without thinking of him and wishing him peace."

"My condolences go out to the family of John Emil Berger.  It is very painful to lose a love one in death.  It is comforting that God know and see what you are going through.  He comforts us in times like these.  2 Corinthians 1:2-4 speaks about God being a God of tender mercies who comforts us through our trials so that we will be able to comfort others.  Not only does he do this, he promises that he will bring dear love ones back to life.  John 5:28,29 says: "Do no be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.  So by means of the resurrection hope, people have the prospect of being with their loved ones again.  After the resurrection, people will be in perfect health.  Isaiah 33:24 says: "No one will say I am sick".  They will be able to live forever in perfect health.  Revelation 21:4 says that death is going to be done away with forever. These are wonderful promises of comfort for us from Almighty God.  We can believe them because, Titus 1:2 said God cannot lie.  I do hope these scriptures bring comfort to you as they do to me.  If you have questions about the resurrection hope, or want answers to other questions that you may have.  Feel free to contact me, or go to the web site:"
