This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Johnnie Baresh, 77, born in July of 1937 and passed away in 2015. We will remember him forever.

As sumitted to the Wiemar Mercury (Johnnie's Home Town Paper http://www.weimarmercury.com/)

Johnnie Joe Baresh, 77, past peacefully in South Houston Texas where he and his family resided.

Born at home in the summer of 1937, as a young man he grew up in the Dubina / Weimar area. Always the adventurer, he traveled various places through the mid-west and west coast. As a member of the US Navy, he traveled overseas, serving in the pacific. He finally settled down with his bride in South Houston, Texas where together they raised three children and built a full life together. His love and knowledge of mechanical equipment served his career well. He spent 37 years in heavy construction. With expertise running cranes and various equipment, he built bridges all over the Houston area until retiring.

Retiring was hardly a time for rest, as Johnnie always with the next “project” then took to his new “career” of ranching. He often said he enjoyed “messin with” the cows & “feedin the fish” back at home on the family farm in Weimar. His interests and hobbies were as he was, broad and varied. Outdoors, he indulged his “tinkering” with mechanical & heavy machinery, and fishing. His “small” gardens would supply the neighborhood. Indoors, he was the source of family lore at dominos and in his card games. His hobbies were limited only by his sense of humor. He was an avid collector of what he referred to as “his ancestors”, stuffed monkeys.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Annie; Children include sons Johnny (JR), and David, daughter, Lonnie (her husband George); Two grandchildren, Tony Murnane & Amy Timmons (her husband Marc): Four Great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Tyson, Christian, and Emily. . Immediate family Charlie (Buster) Mazoch & his wife Ann, Joseph (Bobby) Mazoch, Margaret (Margie) McGowen (her husband Arthur) and his sister-in-law Andy (wife to his brother George). He is remembered by numerous extended family, work colleagues, and friends.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents John & Mary Baresh, his brother George, his sister Jane (Jannie) Dalton and her husband Eugene. No public services will be held as the family will hold the services privately.
