Johnnie Fields Humphries, 84, a lifetime resident of Granville Co., passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Carver Living Center in Durham.

Johnnie was born and raised in Granville County and was the son of the late Lonnie Jones Humphries and Mary King. He was of the Baptist faith , was self-employed and ran Humphries Garage for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2017 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Dr. Troy Rust. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Margaret Brogden Humphries of the home, a daughter, Barbara H. Heath (James) of Roxboro, four sons, Ronnie Humphries (Mary Jane) of Virgilina, Va., Steve Humphries (Joyce) of Henderson, Donald Humphries (Pam) of Roxboro and Michael Humphries (Amy) of Roxboro, four sisters, Bessie Nelson of Virgilina, Va., Doris Watson of Roxboro , Nancy Jackson of Chase City and Frances Meenach (Shelby) Fancy Gap, Va.,ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Lee O’Briant.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 from 12-30 PM to 1:45 PM, prior to the funeral at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other time at the home.
