Mr. Joseph Thomas Phillips, 69, of Magnolia, N.C. died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Vidant Duplin Hospital, Kenansville, NC. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Peter's United Holy Church,  Magnolia, N.C. Pastor Woodrow Grandy will be officiating. Visitation will be at Hawes Funeral Home Chapel, Warsaw, N.C. from 5:00p.m.- 7:00p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013. Interment will be the Duplin Gardens Cemetery, Teachey, N.C.

Joseph Phillips was born July 30, 1944 to the late Willard Phillips and the late Lillian Frederick Phillips. He was preceded in death by brother Charles Carr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Debbie Burton Phillips; son, Steven Phillips of Siler City, NC; daughter, Erica Wright(DeAndre') of Fayetteville, NC; brother Pete McClyde(Janette) of Jacksonville, NC; four sisters, Constance Greenfield(Luther) of Beaulaville, NC, Rebecca Montoya(Hector), Adlue Montgomery, Rose Lane(Paul) all of Magnolia, NC; three grandchildren, Raheim Phillips, Dezarae' Phillips, and MaKayla Wright; a host of other relatives and friends.
