A West Point native, Mrs. Chipman was born Monday, January 3, 1944, as the daughter of Grady & Murlene Daniel. She was a member of Reeds Chapel Baptist Church. She was the owner and operator of Shannon’s Family Restaurant and a retired lunchroom worker at Long Cane Middle School, Troup County Schools.

Mrs. Chipman was a devoted wife to the late David Chipman and a devoted mother to their three daughters. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Melissa and Jeff Fuller of West Point, GA, Hope and Anthony Caldwell of Standing Rock, AL, and Shannon and Johnny Maggart of West Point, GA; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Ms. Patsy Frye of Hoschton, GA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joel and Shirley Johnson of Peachtree City, GA. Mrs. Chipman was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother.
