Juan Simon Gómez, 51, passed away into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Valley Regional Hospital.
Juan was an Air Force veteran who served his country proudly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Guillermina Olvera Gómez, and his brother, Benito Gómez.
Juan is survived by his wife, Martha A. Gómez; his father, Simon C. Gómez; his two sons, Andres Benito and Jon Gómez; his daughter, Cristina Gómez; three grandsons, Lorenzo Daniel Ramirez, David Ryan and Matthew Treviño; five brothers, Jorge Luis Gómez, Roberto (Marta) Gómez, Guillermo (Mary) Gómez, Rafael (Maria del Carmen) Gómez and Rodolfo (Lorena) Gómez; three sisters, Fela (Antonio) Ibarra, Esther (Simon) Gamboa and Mina Heffner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 14, with the holy rosary at 7 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 15, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell, with a committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andres Benito, Jon, Roberto, Guillermo, Rafael, Rodolfo Gómez, Antonio Ibarra and Simon Gamboa.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jorge Luis Gómez.
Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 43 under the direction of Raul Leal.
