Her Life

Judy Donahue

December 8, 2010

Marion Judith Sachewicz-Donahue (Judy) born August 21, 1954 in Jersey City, New Jersey.  Daughter of Walter and Elvira Sachewicz, Mother of Stefanie and Jason Donahue, Sister to Donna Spino, and Grandmother to Jordyn and Gavin Donahue. Loving Aunt and friend to many!

At the age of 19, Judy married the father of her children, Roger Donahue. They lived nearly 20 years together raising a family and building a home. In 1993, they divorced and Judy continued to be there for that family. She was an amazing mother who went through tough times but never gave up. Her children and grandchildren were always #1 in her life until the day she had to say Goodbye.

In March 2001 at the age of 46 Judy was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. A day that would change the lives of many forever. Judy went to the hospital believing she had a bad case of the flu or may even be hitting menopause. Minutes later she found out the news was much more devastating. Within weeks she underwent an extremely complicated surgery to remove numerous tumors, all her reproductive organs along with her spleen. From that day forward Judys days consisted of doctors appointments, having fluids drained from her stomach, blood draws and transfusions, all while bravely dealing with the horrible side effects of chemo and radiation. This was not enough to keep her down. Through it all, not once did you ever hear a negative word. Although, it was known how severe her pain was, she never wanted her family to worry and always kept a smile on her face.

In November of 2004 at the age of 50 Judy was told the cancer had spread to her liver and that she only had about 6 months to live. Treatment ended and she continued to stay strong. Her biggest concern was making sure her children would be ok after she was gone. Judy made the most of the time she had and cherished every moment she was able to spend with her friends and family. She was a remarkable woman who fought the battle of her life with tremendous dignity. Sadly, after 4 years and 4 months from the date of diagnoses Judy left this earth to join GOD and become one of his amazing angels. She will always be cherished and live on through her greatest gifts, her children.

Gone but never forgotten...Rest in Peace! ♥You are much loved and missed! ♥
