Julia Mae Hayes, age 87 of Hogansville, Georgia humbly submitted herself to the Master’s call and transitioned peacefully on October 1, 2014.

Fondly known as “Granny” she was born January 5, 1927 to the late Ben Cameron and Geraldine Caldwell in Plainsview (Hogansville), Georgia. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and lived her life obedient to the Word of GOD.

She was an extremely active and faithful member of the Springfield Baptist Church, the Reunion Club, the Female Nightingales and Senior’s Bowling League. She retired from Uni-Royal and afterwards continued working as a master seamstress. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was known for loving her family and not one day passed without her mentioning her family with joy, pride, and love.

Julia Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Ben Cameron and Geraldine Ellison Caldwell; husband, Milton Hayes, Sr.; daughter, Carol Joy Hayes-Grissom; sister, Hattie Grissom; and two grandsons, Willis Fionn Morris and Miguel Terrance Hayes.

The wonderful memories of Julia Mae’s life will be cherished by her six daughters, Elsie Morris, Delores (Calvin) Williams, Wanda (Raford) Terrell, Ondrea (Kelvin) Smith, Shelia Hayes and Gina Cameron; four sons Hiram (Shirley) Hayes, Milton (Cathy) Hayes, Stevie (Shaketa) Hayes and Jarvis (Keron) Hayes; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren;
sister-in-law, Alice Hudson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
