Her Life

Julia Joy Monroe, age 80, of Pleasantville, NJ departed from this world on March 4, 2013.  Throughout this journey her daughter Lesley was by her side.

Julia was born and raised in New York City where she met and married her late husband, Ester Monroe, later relocating to Newtonville, NJ with her four children. She was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness since 1974. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker and mother.

She was predeceased by her parents, Felix and Catherine (Dunlap) Holt and her brothers Richard and William Holt. She is survived by her children Lesley Hunton, Cheryl Brooks, Kathy Burnett, Soni Brooks and Gary Monroe as well as her two sisters Yvonne Butler and Jennifer Bryant. Julia was the loving grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 23. She was also the dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. 

She will be loved, remembered and missed by all.

Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, March 9th at 3:30 pm. The address is 3550 Bargaintown Rd., Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
