This memorial website was created in memory of my mother, Karen Lynn Cook-Lapins, 72, born on June 29, 1938. She passed away on November 27, 2010.
"I'm thankful for the life you gave me and the 72 years you were part of it."
"Happy Birthday, Mom. You're loved and missed."
"Your love inspired me. This Mother's Day I'm once again grateful for your uplifting words of wisdom."
"Thank you for giving me life. Your spirit lives within me, Mom. Happy Thanksgiving."
"Happy Birthday. Still miss you, Mom."
"My fondest springtime memory... the litter of three baby rabbits you saved from a scavenging crow. I remember their middle-of-the-night formula feedings from an eye-dropper, and later, a tiny bottle. When the bunnies graduated to pellet food, lettuce, carrot, and hand-picked clover, we knew they would live. I'll never forget your dedication to those defenseless, little creatures and determination to keep them alive. Releasing these gorgeous animals back to the wild once they had grown to independence was sad, but perfectly natural. Happy Mother's Day."
"I treasure my childhood memories of the holiday season... baking cookies, wrapping presents, and playing with toys that Santa placed under a tree I helped decorate when we spent Christmas Eve at home, along with the excitement of enjoying time with family in central Wisconsin. These warm traditions will stay in my mind forever."
"Happy Thanksgiving, Mom. I appreciate the holiday meals and treasure the memories. I'm thankful that you raised me and gave my life meaning beyond the merely material."
"Happy Birthday, Mom. You're always in my heart."
"Happy Mother's Day...with love."
"Thanks for the uplifting Easter mornings throughout my childhood. I loved your basket treasure hunts."
"Thank you, Mom, for showing me the magic of words."
