At 17 Karen met and fell in love with a Navy sailor, Frank J. Schutz, and they were married on July 20th 1963 in Las Vegas, NV. In 1964 she relocated to her new husbands home in Spokane, WA, and developed a long and loving relationship with her in-laws. By 2006 she was a great grandmother, and in 2011 was blessed with a second great grandson.
In 2003, following the closing of the local lumber mill in Republic, Karen and Frank relocated to Mead WA, where she resided upon her death.
