Kassie's first day of school was at the K.T. Murphy elementary school in Stamford, Ct.. I was working that day and couldn't take her. My mother brought her and that night told me what happened. Kassie was always a very precotious child. Very smart, very adept at manipulating her surroundings. She was always very "in charge" at home. She had Bubba rapped around her little finger. We called him "Grandpa Up" because she would say "Up!" and he would pick her up. She would point, and he would go. Kassie was boistrous and outspoken. My mother said "You would not have recognised your child today". She said Kassie went to her seat, sat down and listened intently. Quiet as a church mouse. She was always a straight A student.
