Kathleen was born on June 1, 1952, in West Point to Earl and Anna Louise (Roemer) Flores. She was baptized at the Elim Lutheran Church, Swaburg, and later confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in West Point. Kathy attended Cuming County Rural School until the third grade, when she attended West Point Public Schools, graduating from West Point High School in 1971. On June 10, 1973, she was united in marriage to Wesley Schulzkump at Grace Lutheran Church. Kathy worked for Wimmer’s Meat Products and later D&S Tire for 20 years. She operated the Whatever Shop in West Point, taught at Grace Lutheran Pre-School, worked at Bliemeister Auto and the last several years was a paraprofessional at West Point Elementary School.
