Dad always told the story of having a plane before a car. With his brother Bill, they enjoyed flying whenever they could. Even as he grew older, he continued his fascination with planes. Karen and I and grandkids remember going to the airport with dad/grandpa to watch the planes takeoff and land. For his birthday one year, we gave him a gift to fly and "dogfight" in the eastern skies of Colorado. He said it was one of the best days if his life.
