His Life

My son Kyle

November 5, 2015
Kyle, you were born on April Fools Day 1984, 8lbs 2oz, 21.5 inches long!   I knew you would be a tall boy, and you were.  Tall and handsome.
From the time you were born, you never stopped moving as if your life was at high speed, your energy matched your personality.
At four months, you were already crawling; at 9 months you were walking at high speed.   You had already managed to jump out of your crib at 10 months; I would find you under your changing table sleeping.
I was a single parent but managed to stay home until you were about 3years old, then you went to daycare and how you hated it!  You cried, and I said lovingly with tears in my eyes, "The day will be over before you know it", and those words seemed to comfort you for the day.
School was hard for you as you had your own way of learning.  I never understood it until you were a grown man and you explained how not everybody learns at the same pace, nor the same way.  The school tested you and classified you, the worst mistake to label a child at that age.
Your teen years were challenging, not bad but you managed to become very friendly with the local police department for your speeding.  Your cars matched your personality, fast and furious!  I was forever getting you out of trouble for speeding and you did learn from that as later you told ME to stop speeding!
As a young boy you had a little voice; some kids picked on you oh how wrong they were as you grew to be over 6ft tall, joined the gym and could have easily kicked their butts now.
Later during college you joined Mixed Martial Arts in Mahwah NJ becoming a champ, your full blown poster on the NJ Turnpike 2010 Champion MMA, WOW!!  My little boy all grown up and ready to face the world.  Unfortunately you graduated at the worst economic times, jobs were scarce but you managed to keep going always looking for that perfect job.  I am sorry I could not send you to the police academy as times were tough and money short.  You found you way into the IT field earning many acolades in this field you had such confidence enough to land a job at RUTGERS.  I was so, so proud did I tell you that?  You had so much college debt, I helped you the best I could and I am so sorry I could not pay for everything.
You moved around from living with your sister, to a girlfriend, back to an apt then back with your sister; it was as if you never had a home to call your own.  You finally made the decision to apply to NYU in Manhattan a decision that changed your life forever.  You found an apt with a roomate which was going quite well until the roomate stopped paying the rent.  You found your own place, small studio apt, I felt uneasy about you living by yourself in a big city.  NYC a place filled with millions of people but so lonely.   Yes, it did matter that you cared for her and she did not even care after all that you did for her.
You lived your life to the fullest but it was all too much stress, you were too good for this lifetime my son, maybe next time.
I believe we chose out time of birth, we chose our parents and we are here to learn lesson.   Well Kyle you taught me a few, I will love you and miss your smile forever and ever.  Until we meet again, Love Momma
