This photo was taken at my son's (Justen Karl Jensen) wedding on December 19th, 2009 in Tucson AZ.  LaRae, husband Lamon and their son Tod came down to celebrate with us.

Julie is LaRae's sister & my mother.  LaRae was born on Julie's 2nd birthday so every year we celebrate LaRae's birthday along with my mom's.

We will always remember you, Aunt LaRae.  You became more than an aunt to me, you were my impromptu mom whenever I needed you.  You are loved and missed so very much.

Just one of a lot of giggles

April 28, 2014

This picture was taken June, 1994 at the wedding reception of our (Garry and Karlene Crook) son Matthew and Stephanie.  The beautiful outdoor setting was a Stake Center in Holladay,UT, with a dance floor and a live dance band.  Of course there was lots of good food and decorations and a professional photographer who managed to take lots of good pictures to remind us of this happy day.  LaRae, Julie Anne and Karlene  were always happy to be together, and even better on this occasion was the chance to visit with cousins and friends that we don't get to see on a regular basis.  In this picture L to R:  Julie Anne Horne Taylor from Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico; Karlene Horne Crook, from Afton, WY and LaRae Wimmer from Mesa AZ. Sisters and Forever Friends.  The distances that we lived from each other made our visits even more precious, but we did manage to see each other at least once a year.  We are missing our little sister LaRae, but know that we will be with her again someday.  In the meantime, we continue to love and remember LaRae and her family.  All happy memories!

Whip Cream

April 24, 2014

It was Thanksgiving of my senior year of college.  My sister Paige and I traveled down to Arizona to enjoy the holiday with our newly married sister Heidi and her husband Doug’s family.  We stayed with Lamon and LaRae.  I was studying education and had recently finished my first classroom teaching experience in first grade.  LaRae was working in a first grade class at the time, so we had much in common to talk about.  She was so encouraging to me, cheering me on in my educational pursuits.  But when we truly connected was while making whip cream for the Thanksgiving pies!  LaRae suggested using honey as a sweetener instead of sugar.  I gave it a try and we whipped up a yummy topping for our gooey dessert.  Admittedly, it was not my favorite tasting home-made whip cream, but it left an impression.  I always think of LaRae when whipping up delicious cream.

I moved to a suburb of Houston for my first teaching job.  While there, LaRae and Lamon happened to take a vacation to the area.  They took time out of their vacation schedule to come and visit me.  It was so sweet of them and gave LaRae and I time for more school shop-talk!

Many years later during my second year in Boise, LaRae and Lamon were on an Idaho vacation and again made time to visit me.  They treated me to a lovely dinner at a local downtown restaurant- much appreciated by this (once again) college student.  LaRae and I chatted without a hitch as normal.  And they indulged me as I showed them a few of my favorite spots in Boise.

During all my visits to Arizona, I enjoyed time talking to LaRae.  She was always so genuinely interested in me and my life.  She made me feel special and important.

You are missed LaRae!

Getting to know LaRae

April 16, 2014

Eileen and I first met LaRae and Lamon at the Mesa Temple Easter Pagenant. Following it we went to their home where Doug proposed to our daugher Heidi in a very special way in front of all of us.  Since then they have blessed our life and that of our childen as they came to know them both at our house, the wedding and since at their house many times.  When we returned from our mission in Iceland we decided to buy a winter home in Chandler which we enjoyed for three years getting to know LaRae and Lamon much more as we had so many Sunday meals with them and celebrated family milestones together.

Because of LaRae's love of family and family history we decided to dedicate this webpage to her as our family gift for the love she showed all of us. We hope each of you take time to share stores, photos and videos celbrating LaRae's life.
