Obituary March 11, 2015

March 13, 2015

This was created yesterday by a small gathering of family and friends, it is for the local newspaper in Apalachicola.  Due to space limitations there was no way to include all near and dear to her.  We will add more depth to the rich nature of family and friends as time permits.

Laura Serafin of Apalachicola FL., 63, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2015 in Panama City, Florida.  Laura was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Smith, her siblings: Joseph, Peter, Victor and Jeanne, her step-children: Shane, Ian and Bethany, her nephews: Peter, Carmen, and Lucas, her grandniece and nephews: Jordan, Noah, Kaden and Abby,  her grandson, Shia, her sisters-in-law: Jennie, Dolores and Barbara  and numerous other loving family members. Laura obtained her Master’s degree in Labor Relations and had a long career in Human Resource Administration before retiring and moving to Apalachicola. She and Dennis took over Market Street Antiques, which filled her days with great joy. She was a loving and generous spirit who enjoyed gardening, photography, art and nurturing her family. She will be greatly missed. Donations can be made to Covenant Hospice at Panama City Bay Medical or to The Brain Aneurism Foundation (bafound.org).
