The bike ride....
In the days when we didn't appreciate what leisure really meant, Laura, Jeanne and I went on a weekend trip to Martha's Vineyard. What a gorgeous weekend, with few tourists and amazing beauty. We were so young then, but apparently not in very good shape. We got the idea that we would bike across the island so out we set in the morning. We traveled from Edgartown towards Gay Head, I believe. Anyway, we had a fabulous time riding out westward on the island. When we could go no further we turned around and headed back, but boy oh boy were we fatigued! Our poor muscles could push no farther, so we got as far as the airport and hailed a station wagon taxi that could accomomdate three bikes and this is how we got back to our bed and breakfast. So there you have it..those Serafin girls were always up for beauty and adventure. I am so glad that I got to tag along and get to know Laura. What an angel she is.

Learning from this loss
Laura was such a good soul, as everyone knows. One of the personal lessons
from her loss is to try and make the most of each day, because we may not be
here tomomorrow. I know she would want us to find some good in what has
happened and to go on to live our lives to the fullest.
In that spirit, I recommend you watch a lovely brief video on the website
Gratefulness.org, which has brought great comfort to me at this time.
The video is called "A Good Day," it is inspirational without being trite
and can help in a really down moment. Check it out on the site if you wish
I am unable to download it here.
Regards, Jeanne
