My dad loved talking about the story of my birth.  When my mom went into labor with me there was civil disobedience and protesting in New Haven.  He took pride in the fact he had to convince multiple National Guard checkpoints that he had a very valid reason to be driving into the city during curfew.  At some point he convinced them to escort him through any further roadblocks.

Years later I saw an art gallery in New Haven was holding a photo exhibit about the May Day Riots.  For Father's Day I surprised him and we went to the gallery.  That day he was able to relive the day with me.  Special memories!
